Nature Walks / Biking Trails
Throw on your walking shoes and enjoy a scenic, peaceful walk in nature on our maintained nature trails. A great way to escape the noise of city life and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors. The trails cover beautifully grassed areas overlooking Katepwa Lake, and carve into the lush green treed areas as well as open native prairie land.
Golf Cart Rentals
Tired of walking? Enjoy a cruise to the beach on of our rental golf carts, on our designated golf cart trails throughout the property including native prairie grassland/forest trails.. try to make it out to the main gate in the evenings for the most amazing sunsets!
Star Gazing
Far from the city lights, enjoy an uninterrupted and stunning view of the night sky, while exploring for fireflies in the valley! With a small observatory planned for the future, in the meantime bring your own and have the sky to yourself!
Bird / Wildlife Watching
Submerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature. Enjoy the peace of nature with the wildlife that encompasses the Qu’Appelle Valley. Our rental sites over-look a coulee and Katepwa Lake, which is a wonderful and diverse natural habitat for a variety of bird species. There’s a good chance you may have your morning coffee in the Tentzebo or Cottage with the possibility of deer grazing out front, or a Bald Eagle soaring overhead in its natural habitat!
Kids play center
The playhouse is called the "Little Explorers Lodge and PlayPlace" for a reason! It's an enclosed space where kids can go, rain or shine! The play activity center also includes an outdoor swing set, monkey bar set, large sandbox with diggers, and zip lines. The playhouse is also fully outfitted with a chalk board, mini library, board games and more! Pictures to come Spring 2026!
Lake Access
Unique to West Katepwa Scenic Rentals.. our guests have direct lake access and their own private beach. Enjoy the large floating pier and cast a line, take a dip, or kayak on the quietest part of Katepwa Lake and enjoy the peace and serenity of this natural and untouched Gem in the Qu'appelle Valley!
On those hot summer days, wander down to the natural sand beach with a book and enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake. Kayaks are available for rental, or feel free to bring your own! Rainy day? Make the short 10 minute drive to Fort Qu’Appelle for some small town shopping or enjoy the Farmer’s Market every Saturday during the summer months.
Northern Lights
With the explosion of Northern Light activity as of recently recently (fall 2025), there is no better place to experience a solar storm than West Katepwa Scenic Rentals! With unobstructed northerly views, and low light pollution, you'll be guaranteed the best seat in the house!
